Servings: 1
Course: Drinks

Ingredients

For Chai Base:
  • 4 chai tea bags
  • 5 oz hot water
For Topping:
  • 3 tbsp cream heavy cream/double cream
  • 1 tbsp milk
For Assembly:
  • 4 oz cooled Chai base approximately
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • ice
  • cinnamon stick, ground cinnamon garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Put tea bags in hot water, bring to a boil, remove from fire, and let steep for 8-10 minutes. Remove tea bags and let cool completely.
  2. Combine 3 tbsp cream and 1 tbsp milk. Use a frother/whisk until thick and frothy.
  3. In a shaker, add the cooled chai, maple syrup, and ground cinnamon. Shake well.
  4. Add ice in a glass, pour milk, then add the chai tea mixture.
  5. Top it off with the prepared milk foam. Add a drizzle of maple syrup if you are into sweeter drinks and top off with more ground cinnamon. Optionally garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Notes

The tea base must be cold before shaking. For a stronger spice flavor, steep for the full 10 minutes.
