Apple Pie Latte with creamy foam and caramel drizzle

Apple Pie Latte

Forget complicated seasonal drinks! This Apple Pie Latte captures the comforting warmth of a fresh slice of apple pie and puts it right into your mug. The secret is the incredibly flavorful, homemade apple pie syrup, spiced with cinnamon and sweetened with brown sugar.

It’s the perfect, warm specialty coffee to curl up with, especially when topped with a rich cream foam drizzled with caramel sauce.

Why This Latte is the Ultimate Cozy Treat

Authentic Flavor: Using real diced apples and cinnamon in the syrup provides a depth of flavor.

Homemade Syrup Base: The syrup makes a large batch. Thus, you can store it for weeks, making future lattes incredibly fast to assemble.

Luxurious Topping: The optional frothed cream and caramel drizzle elevate this from a coffee to a decadent dessert experience.

Key Ingredients for the Best Apple Pie Syrup

The quality of the syrup is the foundation of this drink, so proper preparation is essential.

Diced Apples: Dice the apples (peeled) into small pieces. This helps them break down faster and release their flavor into the syrup base.

Brown Sugar and Spice: Brown sugar gives the syrup a deeper, molasses-like richness that mimics baked pie filling. Cinnamon is non-negotiable for that authentic spiced taste.

Vanilla Extract: This is added off the heat. Specifically, it brightens the spice and ties the apple flavors together perfectly.

Coffee: We are using one Nescafé Dolce Gusto espresso pod (not sponsored). You can use espresso, or alternatively, 4 ounces of strong brewed coffee.

How to Make the Apple Pie Latte

The process is divided into two parts: making the syrup and assembling the latte.

Part 1: Homemade Apple Pie Syrup

Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, add the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Place over medium heat.

Melt Sugar: Stir constantly until the brown sugar starts to melt. Then, add the 1 and 1/2 cups of water.

Cook: Continue cooking until the diced apple fully softens (approximately 15-20 minutes). Turn off the heat.

Finish and Cool: Remove the softened apples. Add the vanilla extract to the syrup and stir. Finally, let the syrup cool down completely before use.

Part 2: Assembly

Prep Cream (Optional): In a separate container, combine 3 tablespoons of cream and 1 tablespoon of milk. Froth until thick and airy. Set aside.

Start Latte: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the prepared apple pie syrup into your cup.

Brew Coffee: Brew your espresso pod directly into the cup with the syrup. Stir well to combine.

Add Milk: Pour warm milk into your cup, filling it most of the way. Next, gently stir the coffee mixture into the warm milk.

Garnish and Serve: Top it off with the prepared frothed cream and drizzle with caramel sauce
